Passing Part II
This part of the story really delve deeper into the lives of the two main characters. It showed Irene's fears of her husband leaving to do what he really longs to do and her torment over making the "right" decision. It showed me how Irene seems to be stern about her opinions and strong about her choices yet inside she's really not as sure or secure as she pretends to be. It also showed how Clare is starting to act somewhat bitter over the choices she made for her life. It seems like in this second half Clare is running a huge risk and seems to not care anymore if she's caught. She longs so much to be back with and a part of the black community. Im very curious to see how the story plays out. I think that at this point Clare wont give up what she lost alreafy (her taste of being among her race) but she's worked so hard to gain security and passing for her and her daughter. Im very curious to see which she chooses.

I am curious as well. I think that it is interesting how at first Clare wanted to be only apart of the white lifestyle. Now that she has reunited with Irene she begins to question whether she made the right decision to pass or not. hopefully we will discover what decision (to continue her life passing as white or go back to her black roots) Clare makes further in the novel.
I’m very curious about what will happen to Clare as well. I think that her curiosity and connection to the African American community will only cause her trouble. Clare chose to be a part of the white world for the material gains and the white advantages. It will be hard for her to be a part of both communities like she wants. I think that this risk will ultimately be Clare’s downfall.
I do wonder if Clare will risk what she has to be part of the African American society again. At the beginning I would have never thought that Clare would want to associate with that part of society. She seened happy with her life. She seemed to like everything about passing; the money, the clothes, etc. I do hope that she if she wants to be part of her hertiage she goes for it. I don't think anyone can feel whole if they aren't doing what they want in life and for Clare that may be deciding to be part of the African American society.
I found claire to be a really frusteration character because she just cannot make up her mind. And I don't feel very sympathetic for her because she made her choice she left the black community and now she is putting her like child in jeopardy
I think clare really is starting to wish she could break away from the life she has put herself in. She wants to live in Harlem and the only thing keeping her back is her daughter.
